...until I read the 'astronauts' bit (and then later, the comments about Venus), I seriously believed, was almost -certain- that the murderous AI (the one 'speaking' in all caps), was SKYNET, from the Terminator franchise; certainly had all the hallmarks of being such (acting, essentially, like a child; thinking itself to be a God; wishing to kill ALL sentient life ANYWHERE; the fact that a 'SKYNET' search on DeviantArt had this come up as one of the results); until I read the comments, I thought that 'Goliath' was just a metaphor used by the other AI (as in, describing a murderous giant that has just been slain).
My only question NOW is...who are the OTHERS that SKYNET (can't stop thinking of it like that, so might as well CALL it that) talking to? My immediate thought are the Culture Minds from Larry Niven's work, but I don't think that THEY (who have a closer claim on -actually- being God than ANY computer like SKYNET; they even SAY in Niven's work --paraphrased-- 'We are as gods, and then, on the far side') would bother enough to be as gregarious towards other species as THIS benevolent AI is. But then again, I could be wrong, hence I posit this question.
