The worthless painting from my short story [link]
The origin of the painting:
In 1963, there was an old painter who had spent 45 years of his life painting, received almost no attention and had finally realized he had no real talent.
This final painting of his depicts himself fishing at the docks near his house, something his father and brother did, but he himself loathed to the very end.
The next day, he was found dead with two brushes driven into his eye sockets, with the painting facing his corpse.
I'll paint the rest of this painting, namely the bit where the 'fisherman' turns to look at you.
