We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Well, I first put pink on one layer, and then inserted a pattern on a layer over set to 'multiply'. I adjusted the opacity of the pattern layer so it wouldn't look too faint or too strong.
Merge the two layers, and add light and dark shades with the brush tool, set at 'spatter'.
